Civitella Alfedena a 2 Km
A village of eminently tourist vocation, mountain climate and amazing air Civitella Alfedena, is located at the foot of imposing mountain groups (Monte Meta, Greek, Marciano and Camosciara) at an altitude of 1.121 mt, surrounded by meadows and rich water springs. Of medieval origins, Civitella boasts a peculiar preservation of its architectural features and landscape integrity. The stone houses of the town are all gathered around the Baroque church of San Nicola. Civitella Alfedena is a atrting point for many excursion on exclusive itineraries, besides visiting the Wolf Museum and the Lynx protected area. The excursion to the Vle di Rose is one of the most famous in the park and guarantee te possibility to sight Chamois herds grazing.

La Camosciara 2 Km
La Camosciara represents an amazing spectacular and rare dolomite formation with the shape of a shell, that encloses a soft and sinuous landscape full of beech, maple and oak trees, Juniper groves, small and large meadows sloping gently towards the valley. Sometimes crevasses del Balzo, of mounts Capraro and Sterpi d’Alto are hidden from the dark fronds of rare black pine woods. On the top, on the eastern slopes of Mount Sterpi d’Alto and along the ancient tratturo regio lies the nice village of Civitella Alfedena.

Barrea 7 Km
Barrea is a commune of 769 inhabitants in the Italian province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region. It belongs to the moutain community Alto Sangro e Altopiano delle Cinque Miglia. It is a well-known tourist destination thanks to the presence of its lake and for being one of the main centres of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise national Park. The Barrea Lake is an artificial lake built in 1951 by the damming of the Sangro river at the mouth of Barrea. It is located within the AbruzzoNational Park, the Alto Sangro and altopiano delle Cinquemiglia mountain community. At an altitude of 1250 Mt, Opi preserves therefore the charm of its location and the shape of a typical agro pastoral community. Pescasseroli 15 Km
Pescasseroli lies in the high Sangro valley and is known for being the administrative seat of Abruzzo National Park. It is worth to be underlined that tourism is the economic dynamo of this small town. For a true plunge into nature, do not miss to come and visit this part of Italy, where you can admire the typical animals of the park : bears, wolves and chamois. Worth a mention is also the centuries-old handicraft tradition.
